Bihar is the state of Northern India that has vivid colours of art
& culture and has produced famous name in the field of literature, music
and paintings. We bring you the story of a National award winner Mrs. Manisha
Jha Mishra.
Manisha a woman of substance, who has accomplished herself as an
excellent architect, making a remarkable name for herself in the field of
“Mithila Paintings”. She is a bachelor’s in Architecture and a post graduate in Urban & Regional Planning Institute of
Environmental Design from Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat. She has a rich experience of 18
years in the field of Architecture, Design & Arts. In the year 1970, joined
an architecture firm named Architechno firm, started by her father Mr.
Suresh Jha. She got married to Mr. Ajitesh Mishra in the year 1993, and
the couple is blessed with two beautiful sons. With new added responsibilities in
life, didn’t distract from her work and in an astonishing way managed her
professional & personal life.
Ideology behind the inception of “Madhubani Art Centre” in the
year 1998 was to revive the lost art & craft of “Madhubani” or “Mithila”
paintings of Bihar and helping the women of villages from Bihar to earn their
livelihood for the betterment of their families. She and her team have put in a
lot of hard work to establish a renowned name for “Madhubani” painting across
the globe.
Organizes workshop with school children
for creating the awareness about the art which is being evolved, practised
& preserved by women. They train the young girls and women from the villages’
o earn their livelihood.
“Madhubani Art Centre” is also associated
with the programmes organised by office of development commissioner, Ministry
of textiles Govt. of India. There work is exhibited across the world and even
has an online store for hand crafted home décor accessories & gifts.
Recognition of Madhubani Art Centre: - Team has been recognised for their
amazing work:
·National award by the President of India, 2013 for excellence in the field of Mithila Paintings;

painting from Government of Delhi, India, 2007- 08;

artist-all India fine arts and crafts society, 1998;

Narayan Award in the field of Madhubani Paintings, Oct. 2002;

National Centre for Arts, New Delhi;

piece of art for economic sustenance.
Vision of Madhubani Art
Centre:- To fill the gap between rural & urban market. Guide &
support the women to become independent and earn their own livelihood.
