In a Flowering
creeper city called Hubali, stayed a cute little girl Annie. She used to stay
with her parents in a small house, which had a garden in the backyard, where
Annie had a small play area to herself.
Of all the things
in play area she loved the tree swing, where she used to spend a lot of time
over viewing the nature after coming home from school. One day she was upset due
to a surprise test, in which she has scored low mark. On reaching home she went
to her backyard and sat on the tree swing thinking about the test. A ray
of light from the setting sun, making the way for twilight, grey clouds
dwindling the moon. Breeze moving along the clouds, stars twinkling in the sky
with moon light spreading its spells in the garden, someone called Annie’s
name. The voice was not familiar so she ignored, but heard her
name again and looked around, to her surprise there was an Owl sitting on a
branch of the same tree. Her very first thought was of a misinterpretation, of
that Owl calling out her name, but it was the third time when she heard her
name again stating, "please don’t be upset, it’s me Jim, an Owl".
Annie got furious
on learning that an Owl is talking to her and even knows her name, this made
her bouts walking backwards with her eyes still on the Owl. Jim understood that
he had scared Annie, whom he wanted to be friends with. He said sorry little
girl for scaring you, on seeing you upset for the day, wished to make you smile.
Conversation between Annie & Jim
Annie: How do you know my
name?
Jim: Every evening your mom
calls you home at this time, that’s how I learnt your name.
Annie: Where do you stay?
Jim: I stay on this tree.
Annie: For how long have
you been here?
Jim: For two months 10 days
and 2 hours.
Corner Time
Jim: Can I ask you
something?
Annie: Yes please.
Jim: Why are you upset
today?
Annie: Because I could not
score good grades in my recent class test.
Jim: Oh, that’s sad.
Jim: Is it the only reason
you are upset of?
Annie: Yeah…..
Jim: May I tell you
something?
Annie: What is it?
Hhhhuuu….
Jim: Hope you won’t mind it!.
Annie: hmmm…
Jim: Failure influence knowledge and Knowledge influence
Success.
Annie: Can you please elaborate?
Jim: Oh yes. I mean to say, neither be disheartened on
your failures nor over self-assurance about your success. Both go hand in hand
and always there is a reason behind each occurrence, what matters is learning
should not be stopped in any of the situations. However scoring good grades is
equally important, but it’s always good to analyse the reason of occurrence
rather than being upset.
Jim: Hope you agree with it.
Annie nodded her head in agreement , said she
understood that ‘Time and Tide wait for none’ and henceforth will not let her
failures bother her. I thank you for your guidance Jim.
Jim: Can I ask you again something?
Annie: why not?. Please go ahead.
Jim: Can we be friends?
Annie: hmmmm….thinking!
Jim: I will never harm you Annie.
Annie: I believe that Jim. Yes we can be friends.
Jim: I will always love you my dear friend and you can
talk to me whenever you feel like.
Annie: sure Jim. It’s same from my side too. I will take your leave now, as mom had already called me twice to be home, gosh…I
am late. Goodnight and be safe Jim.
